Customizable labor & delivery packing list with a pack-by date and live countdown.
Have your bag packed by
Your hospital bag checklist
Enter your due date to get a personalized pack-by date and countdown.
This customizable hospital bag checklist turns your due date into a personalized "have your bag packed by" date with a live countdown, then builds a sectioned packing list for mom, baby, documents, your partner, and (if needed) a NICU stay. It scales suggested quantities to your likely hospital stay, tags items your hospital probably provides so you don't over-pack, and lets you add your own items. Tick boxes as you pack — progress saves in your browser.
We use a standard 40-week reference from your due date. The pack-by lead is 4 weeks for a Standard profile (40 − 36 = pack by ~36 weeks) and 5.5 weeks for High-risk/multiples (the midpoint of the 34–35 week advice). Your pack-by date is due date − (lead × 7 days). The countdown to your due date is (due date − today) ÷ 7 in weeks, computed from calendar dates at local midnight so it never flips a day early.
Say your due date is August 1, today is June 9, and your profile is Standard:
Switch the profile to High-risk/multiples and the lead becomes 5.5 weeks, pulling the pack-by date back to about June 23 — only 14 days out, so the banner flips to Pack now.

General ACOG-aligned guidance is to have your bag ready by about 36 weeks of pregnancy, because roughly 10% of babies arrive before the due date. If you are high-risk or expecting multiples, many providers advise packing earlier, around 34 to 35 weeks. This tool calculates a personalized pack-by date from your due date and risk profile.
A planned C-section usually means a longer stay (about 3 to 4 nights) versus roughly 2 nights for a vaginal birth, so you pack more outfits and toiletries. C-section recovery also benefits from high-waisted underwear, loose tops, and easy-on slip-on items. Set the delivery type and the checklist scales quantities and reveals C-section items.
Many hospitals supply baby diapers, mesh or disposable underwear for mom, postpartum pads, and a peri (squirt) bottle. This is common but not universal. Turn on the "hospital provides basics" toggle and the tool tags those items as optional backups so you do not over-pack. Confirm with your specific hospital.

Yes. Use Copy share link and your settings, custom items, and checked boxes are encoded into the link. When your partner opens it, they see the exact same list. Progress also saves automatically in your browser so it survives a refresh.
No. This is a planning and organization aid, not medical advice. It does not replace guidance from your OB-GYN, midwife, or hospital. Always follow your provider's and hospital's specific instructions, including their recommended pack-by date.
