Shipping Cost Estimator — guide & how to use

What it does

This estimator predicts your package shipping cost from the weight and your carrier's per-pound rate, with optional dimensional weight and a fuel surcharge. Use it to quote shipping, set buyer shipping charges, or compare carriers — calculated privately in your browser, free.

How to use it

  1. Enter the package weight, your carrier's rate per lb, and a base/handling fee.
  2. For large/light boxes, open Advanced and enter dimensions to apply dimensional weight.
  3. Add a fuel surcharge % if your carrier charges one, and read the estimate.

Frequently asked questions

How is shipping cost estimated?

Base fee + billable weight × rate per lb, plus any fuel surcharge. Billable weight is the greater of actual or dimensional weight.

What is dimensional weight?

L × W × H (in) ÷ 139. Carriers bill the higher of actual or DIM weight, so big light boxes cost more.

Is it really free?

Yes. 100% free, everything runs in your browser.
